RESUMO (A Sessão de Nomenclatura de Madri e as principais modificações para a nova versão do Código Internacional de Nomenclatura para Algas, Fungos e Plantas - Código de Madri). do Código Internacional de Nomenclatura para Algas, Fungos e Plantas - Código de Madri). Apresentamos as principais decisões e modificações que serão introduzidas no Código de Madri, aceitas durante a Sessão de Nomenclatura do XX Congresso Internacional de Botânica realizado em Madri, Espanha, em julho de 2024. Entre as principais modificações estão a criação de um mecanismo para registro voluntário de nomes e tipos de algas e plantas; o estabelecimento de Comitês para Propósitos Especiais sobre tipos e tipificações, DNA como tipo nomenclatural, ética em nomenclatura e organismos ambirreinais; a remoção de um conjunto de nomes baseados em um termo depreciativo; a possibilidade, a partir de 2026, de propor a rejeição de novos nomes depreciativos a grupos de pessoas; a mudança para apenas um voto institucional para cada herbário e a criação de um Comitê Editorial permanente para fungos. Essas decisões moldam as futuras diretrizes e práticas de nomenclatura para algas, fungos e plantas nos próximos seis anos. ABSTRACT (The Nomenclature Session of Madrid and the main modifications for the new version of the International Code of Nomenclature for Algae, Fungi, and Plants - Madrid Code). We present the main decisions and modifications that will be introduced in the Madrid Code, accepted during the Nomenclature Section of the XX International Botanical Congress held in Spain in July 2024. Among the main modifications are the creation of a mechanism for voluntary registration of names and types of algae and plants; the establishment of Special-purpose Committees on types and typifications, DNA as nomenclatural type, ethics on nomenclature and ambiregnal organisms; the removal of a set of names based on a derogatory term; the possibility, starting in 2026, to propose the rejection of new names derogatory to groups of people; the change to a single institutional vote for each herbarium, and the creation of a permanent Editorial Committee for Fungi. These decisions will shape future guidelines and practices in nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants in the next six years.
