Summary:The parameters of antipyrine pharmacokinetics in saliva have been calculated and a method for indirect determination of the microsomal oxidase activity of hepatocytes has been developed based on evaluation of the average content of the test compound in sequential 3-h samples of saliva taken over a 12-h period of time after administration. Microsomal oxidase activity has been estimated in patients wth streptococcal angina. It is established that ximedone effectvely influences this activity and produces a positive therapeutic effect on the course of the disorder.
