A new polyoxovanadate-based metal–organic framework: synthesis, structure and photo-/electro-catalytic properties

A new polyoxovanadate-based metal–organic framework, [Cu(Pz)](V 4 O 10 ) ( 1 ) (Pz = Pyrazine) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 displays a 3D framework with a rare reduced V 4 O 10 2− layer. The electrochemical stud...

Summary:A new polyoxovanadate-based metal–organic framework, [Cu(Pz)](V 4 O 10 ) ( 1 ) (Pz = Pyrazine) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 displays a 3D framework with a rare reduced V 4 O 10 2− layer. The electrochemical study shows that 1 exhibits bifunctional electrocatalytic activities toward reduction of iodate and oxidation of ascorbic acid. Surface photovoltage spectroscopy (SPS) and electric field induced surface photovoltage spectroscopy (EFISPS) measurements reveal that 1 has the behavior of an n-type semiconductor. In addition, 1 shows excellent photocatalytic activity for the decomposition of Rhodamine-B dye under visible light.
