Complete genome sequence of a keratin-degrading bacterium Chryseobacterium gallinarum strain DSM 27622T isolated from chicken

•Chryseobacterium gallinarum DSM 27622T, is a new keratin-degrading bacterium isolated from chicken. This is the first complete sequence of the genus Chryseobacterium associated with keratin degradation.•The genome of DSM 27622T consists of a circular chromosome of 4633,432bp with no plasmid. 4161 g...

Summary:•Chryseobacterium gallinarum DSM 27622T, is a new keratin-degrading bacterium isolated from chicken. This is the first complete sequence of the genus Chryseobacterium associated with keratin degradation.•The genome of DSM 27622T consists of a circular chromosome of 4633,432bp with no plasmid. 4161 genes.•Out of 4161 predicted genes, total 25 genes were identified as enzymes involved proteolytic activity. Chryseobacterium gallinarum strain DSM 27622T is a keratin-degrading bacterium belonging to the class Flavobacteriia, which was isolated from chicken. Here, we report the 4633,632bp complete genome sequence of the strain DSM 27622T with 4161 genes.
