Summary:A design of pattern reconfigurable antennas is presented. The antenna has a single radiating patch, and it is excited with two feeds. When the two input ports are respectively excited, the antenna can generate broadside and dipole‐like radiation patterns. Moreover, the antenna can also offer a pair of tilted beams as the two input ports are simultaneously excited with the same amplitude and difference phases. The tilted beams are pointed to θ = ±60°, and both of them have a side lobe level of around 20 dB. An antenna prototype operating at 2.4 GHz is constructed, and its experimental results have good agreements with simulated data. Details of the antenna designs are shown.
