Summary: | A wide-beam waveguide circularly polarized antenna is designed at Ka band in this paper, in which a linearly polarized wave is transformed into a circularly polarized wave through an elliptical and gradual change waveguide structure. The design model is simulated and optimized in 3D electromagnetic simulation software HFSS.14. Simulation results show that the 3 dB beam-width is greater than 80° (±40°) and the axial ratio is less than 3 dB in this beam, the total gain is about 9 dB, and the voltage standing wave ratio is less than 1.47 in 32-38 GHz. Measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results; the antenna performance meets the design requirements. |
