Summary:The A. has studied the ultrastructural aspects of the crgastoplasm of the exocrine pancreas cell of Discoglossus pictus Otth., and the relationship of the crgastoplasm with the so-called « nehenkem », as revealed by the' electron microscope. The A. has found that this cytoplasmic formation is actually constituted by whorls, more or less condensed, of crgastoplasmie structures (flattened « cister-nae» with rough walls). In many cases the « nehenkem » appear to he constituted by an external zone of ergastoplasmie whorls, including an internal region, structured as the ordinary hyaloplasm of this cellular type. The A. concludes - as working hypothesis - that the more probable meaning of the so-called « nehenkem » seems to be, that thev are regions, where protein synthesis is particularly intensive.
