Summary:To the Editor: Disopyramide is gaining widespread acceptance as an antiarrhythmic drug. The proliferation of the use of this drug has been followed by several case reports of adverse reactions. Podrid et al. reported in the March 13 issue on the recurrence of congestive heart failure in 50 per cent of their patients treated with disopyramide. The negative inotropic effect of disopyramide was reported early, 1 but the frequency of its occurrence is only now being realized.
