Summary: | Generally, gas pipelines are installed by open-cut methods. However, construction conditions have become more severe recently because of the following reasons:
1.
(1) Demand for methods of construction that do less harm to be environment (decrease in volume of earth and sand to be used or disposed of).
2.
(2) Demand for methods of construction that do less harm to people (decrease in noise, vibration, period of construction, and disruption of traffic).
3.
(3) Decrease in construction costs.
Osaka Gas has developed trenchless pipe installation methods to respond to these demands. We have finished developing the “SLIDE-MOLE” for the installation of large-diameter steel pipes, and have already used it at work sites. |
