Magnetic properties of Y(Co 1− x M x ) 2 compounds (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.18; M = Al, Ga) and their hydrides

Measurements of the specific heat C P , the ac-susceptibility χ and the magnetization M have been performed on the weakly ferromagnetic systems Y(Co, M) 2 (M = Al, Ga) and their hydrides in the concentration range 0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.18. Pronounced maxima in the electronic specific heat coefficient y and i...

Summary:Measurements of the specific heat C P , the ac-susceptibility χ and the magnetization M have been performed on the weakly ferromagnetic systems Y(Co, M) 2 (M = Al, Ga) and their hydrides in the concentration range 0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.18. Pronounced maxima in the electronic specific heat coefficient y and in the Debye temperature Θ D are observed in the region of the occurrence of magnetic order and point to the appearance of spin fluctuations.
