Theory of magnetic X-ray absorption dichroism
We present a full theory of magnetic dichroism in absorption in itinerant magnets based on the multiple scattering theory. This is a generalization of earlier work, which unifies circular and linear dichrroism. We illustrate the theory in the alloy Fe 0.8Co 0.2.
