Summary:Scattering of sound waves from spherical bubbles is investigated where fluid or air contained in the bubble is assumed to have a density different from the surrounding medium. The present analysis yields more general results than other known studies. Furthermore, the boundary conditions used have been derived consistently from the conservation equations. Differential and total scattering cross-sections are obtained and special cases are discussed.
