Summary:Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) was instituted as a routine task in our hospital from 1985. Examination of the frequency of digoxin toxicity was conducted during the 9-year period from 1985 to 1993. Though the frequency was about 8% in 1985 and 1896, however, it gradually decreased every year to the level of about 1% for the last two years. This suggests that TDM is an effective measure for decreasing the frequency of digoxin toxicity.
