Transmission of gamma rays through the curved single crystals of gadolinium–gallium garnet

The effect of anomalous transmission of gamma rays ( E γ =0.662 MeV) through the bent single crystals of Gd 3Ga 5O 12 (GGG) has been experimentally studied. A simple model has been proposed, which explains the observed phenomenon by the gamma ray focusing.
