Summary:We conducted a kidney biopsy because of the lack of improvement in kidney function and absence of crystals in the urine. The examination of paraffin sections revealed the presence of tubulointerstitial lesions with polymorphous infiltrates mainly composed of neutrophils. In addition, tubular microvacuolization was observed. Interestingly, elongated optically empty formations were detected within the tubular lumens (Figure 1a).
