Summary:The astrometric observations of the apparent close approaches between near-Earth asteroids and the Gaia stars provide high quality data for studies on the dynamics of these objects. We present the technique of data analysis that allows us to decrease the distortion-dependent positional errors and observational results of eight of such events performed with the ‘Saturn-1m’ telescope of the Pulkovo Observatory in 2019–2020. The mean value of the astrometric accuracy of the relative ‘star - asteroid’ positions is ±30 mas. •Apparent close approaches between Solar System bodies and the Gaia stars.•High accuracy of the determination of the near-Earth asteroid (NEA) apparent motion parameters for those events.•Suitable data for the dynamics studies on the NEAs.
