Summary:The purpose of this study was to visually reconstruct the connectivity of fibers in plant fibers and synthetic fibers using diffusion tensor tractography for ex vivo phantom of DTI and to compare FA and ADC values to see if they can be used as materials for ex vivo phantom. For magnetic resonance imaging, an Intera Achiva Tx 1.5 T (Philips) was used, and an eight-channel phase array head coil was used. We obtained data in 32 directions using the single-shot echo planar sequence. We were able to obtain images of reconstructing the connections of fibers using DTT in plant fibers and synthetic fibers. Also, FA and ADC values derived from DTT were obtained from stem of garlic and asparagus and synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon, and polypropylene. DTI phantom was manufactured using plant fibers and synthetic fibers that can be used for ex vivo phantom of DTI, and its characteristics were compared and evaluated. Reconstruction images using DTT did not show a perfect fiber connection, but good fiber connection could be confirmed for each material. FA and ADC values were measured from the reconstructed DTT image, and the characteristics of each material were compared and evaluated. By grasping the characteristics of materials that can be used for ex vivo phantom of DTI, it is believed to be helpful in developing phantom for DTI’s quality management in the future.
