Summary:The spectral-angular distribution of the radiation produced in an almost transparent stack of alternating two types of plates is investigated theoretically in UV region. The numerical results show that with the decrease of the thickness of the plates the angular distribution of the produced Cherenkov-transition radiation becomes much wider. The transition radiation like part of the radiation emitted under small angles vanishes when the dielectric constants of both media differ significantly from 1, i.e. when both types of plates are made of condensed matter. The Cherenkov-like radiation emitted under larger angles has interference parametric oscillations. Possible applications of such radiation are discussed.
