Summary:The Medical Information Center of the Jikei University School of Medicine began to provide a research activity database in the university network in July 2002. The purpose of the database was to promote the university's research accomplishments by listing the activities of all researchers. The database system was quickly and inexpensively constructed with the “LIMEDIO” library system (Ricoh Co., Ltd), and the data collected for “The Jikei University School of Medicine Annual Report of Education and Research” were entered into it. The database can be used in two ways: to search by title, author, or subject, and to list all the achievements of a department or office. The database will be continually improved.
