Physicochemical studies on LaYO3 perovskite prepared at low temperature

The mixed oxide LaYO3 was prepared by the thermal decomposition of mixed oxalate at 800 C and compared with samples prepared at 1100 C. XRD patterns and DTA curves were obtained. Electrical conductivity was also measured. It is concluded that LaYO3 prepared at the lower temperature is related to the...

Summary:The mixed oxide LaYO3 was prepared by the thermal decomposition of mixed oxalate at 800 C and compared with samples prepared at 1100 C. XRD patterns and DTA curves were obtained. Electrical conductivity was also measured. It is concluded that LaYO3 prepared at the lower temperature is related to the orthorhombic perovskite, whilst heating at 1100 C does not yield the perovskite. Thus heating at 1100 C for 3 h is insufficient for complete solid state reaction. 6 refs.
