Summary:The study submits the pragmatic analysis of the socio-economic context during the medical crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic and in the period immediately after it, with the identification of pertinent solutions to reduce financial stress on the public budget and to stimulate economic recovery. The objectives of the study are to identify the main factors having a strong effect on the national economy during the COVID-19 crisis and to transpose them into a financial stress management system, based on econometric modelling. The results of the study highlighted the dynamics of Romania’s socio-economic evolution in the period immediately after the pandemic and in the long run, while identifying viable solutions for economic recovery and stabilisation of both health and economic status of the population. The results of the study are useful to the profile institutions in Romania and to economic agents in identifying the approaches and strategies that could be adopted at macro and microeconomic level for economic recovery after the coronavirus pandemic crisis.
