Summary: | Anoxic brain injury following cardiac arrest causes serious neurological sequela and mortality. Cortical blindness is a known manifestation of anoxic brain injury. However, its delayed‐onset presentation is very rare. Here, we report two patients with an anoxic brain injury who were effectively resuscitated after cardiac arrest, and subsequently developed delayed‐onset cortical blindness and movement disorders. We also provide a literature review of previously reported similar cases. These cases highlight that even in successfully revived patients, anoxic brain injury‐related neurological deficits could appear late in the course and may be permanent in 25% of the cases. |
