Summary:The influence of the introduction of 10 wt % fullerene soot containing 8.5% fullerene C60 into Litol-24 grease on the sliding friction features in the R6M5 steel–45 steel pair in the load range 0–1400 N is studied. The introduction of the additive causes a number of changes in the basic laws of sliding friction and leads to a decrease in the friction force by ~2.5 times and the coefficient of friction by ~3 times. The most pronounced improvement in the tribotechnical characteristics is detected in the load range 600–1335 N. For both the lubricant without additives and the lubricant with the addition of fullerene soot, the load dependence of the friction force has a piecewise linear form, a simple linear version of the Amonton–Coulomb law is obeyed in each of the sections, and a generalized version of the Amonton–Coulomb law is obeyed in both cases with allowance for changes in the friction interaction conditions.
