Summary:The sience of diaconia should focus on the religion as a source between individuals and society. On the whole the science of diaconia has to leave the more spiritual perspective on the individual and relate to what happens in the relation between the social practice of Churches and religous organisations and society. That is because religion is more public as researchers has thought it to be. Diaconal studies should therefore look for religion and practices with religious impact on the welfare conditions in pluralist modern societies.
