Remarkable acceleration of dimethyl phosphate hydrolysis by ceric cations

Ce4+ cations in aqueous solution at pH 1.8 and 60 degrees C reduce the half-life of dimethyl phosphate hydrolysis from 8454 years (pH 7, 60 degrees C) to 22 min.
