Summary:Recently we have treated 3 cases of vascular lesions at the cranio-cervical junction by direct operations and had good results. Two of them were arteriovenous malformations and another was extramedullary aneurysm. All cases developed subarachnoid hemorrhage in the posterior fossa and their clinical symptoms were similar to those of ruptured cerebral aneurysms. And it was difficult to find the bleeding sources with the routine angiographical examination. We discuss the diagnostic procedure and the treatment, reviewing the literature.
