Summary:Each January, the HIV Netherlands-Australia-Thailand Research Collaboration (HIV-NAT) organizes this symposium on HIV medicine. The symposium aims to present a comprehensive review of the management of HIV infection to physicians from Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. This review includes updates on antiretroviral therapy, new research and efforts to improve access to care. The major sponsors were the Foundations for AIDS Research through its TREAT Asia Initiative, Australia s National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research and Thailand s National Health Security Office, IDS Marketing, Bristol Myersquibb and Merck & Co, Inc. The Symposium attracts more than 500 participants from Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, Australia, The Netherlands and South Korea.
