Summary: | We have investigated topological phase transition in 8-Pmmn borophene. This transition from band insulating to topological insulating phase can be tuned by an applied electric field which can vary the band gap induced by spin-orbit coupling. Signatures of this topological phase transition are exhibited in the Hall conductivities. Charge, spin and valley Hall conductivities in the two phases are determined using linear response theory.
•Charge Hall conductivity for a single valley exhibits anisotropic behavior.•Finite gap opens between charge Hall conductivities for spin-up and spin-down states.•Phase transition from BI to TI phase appears in the spin and valley Hall conductivities. |
