Summary:Anew method for assessing the structural stability of nickel-base refractory alloys is suggested. The method is based on determination of the parameter of phase stability and allows for the dynamics of the degradation of structure and the temperature-and-time test conditions. The parameter of structural stability is computed using the results of a study of 300 grades of domestic and foreign heat-resistant nickel alloys. Dependences of the ultimate strength on the Larson–Miller parameter are plotted. It is shown that the new method reflects correctly the stability of the structure of refractory nickel alloys, especially those with a modern alloying system, as compared to conventional estimation of the temperature of complete dissolution of the main hardening phase.
