Summary:Three types of resistance heating vacuum furnaces for KEMS are considered. It is shown that the measured vapor species from the inner volume of the furnace resulting from dispersion of the molecular beam may introduce significant systematic error and restrict application of the direct comparison of ion currents method. The required corrections are assessed using the results of vaporization trials with Ag, Cu, CsCl.
