Summary:The paper proposes the new express method for the measurement of thermal conductivity of fluids, gels, and pastes using a measuring rod, one end of which is a hemispherical tip immersed in a fluid, and another is heated by an electric heater. The measurement rod records the temperature difference at its certain section to obtain the heat flow between the probe and the fluid at infinity. Experimental results are compared to those obtained by the conventional flat-plate method and reference data on several fluids.
