Development of High Strength and High Ductility Welded Material for Incoloy

Incoloy 800 was modified to supply the welding material for nominal Incoloy 800 (Fe--21Cr--32Ni--Al, Ti). The new alloy consists basically of Fe--23Cr--34Ni--Mo, Nb with high creep resistance and high ductility at elevated temp. The amount of Mo and Nb(Ti) are restricted by 0.8-1.6% Mo and Nb/C of 6...

Summary:Incoloy 800 was modified to supply the welding material for nominal Incoloy 800 (Fe--21Cr--32Ni--Al, Ti). The new alloy consists basically of Fe--23Cr--34Ni--Mo, Nb with high creep resistance and high ductility at elevated temp. The amount of Mo and Nb(Ti) are restricted by 0.8-1.6% Mo and Nb/C of 6-10 or (Nb + Ti)/C of 8-16, and the alloy exhibited the creep strength of 5.3 kfg/mm exp 2 and the rapture elongation of 8-12% at 800 deg C and 10 exp 3 h. This alloy has been on the market since 1984. 2 ref.--S.M.
