Cadmium chloride: An efficient catalyst for one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones
Biginelli reaction was carried out using cadmium chloride as a catalyst to obtain the dihydropyrimidones in excellent yields. This condensation was applicable to various aldehydes with ethyl acetoacetate and urea in acetonitrile at reflux temperature.
