A study of heat transfer during steam condensation on a horizontal tube placed in granular material made of particles with different wettability of surface

Summary:The dependence of the equivalent radius of a threshold channel on the diameter of particles during combined action of capillary and mass forces is experimentally obtained. Experimental data on heat transfer during steam condensation on a horizontal tube placed in well- and partially wettable granular layers are presented. It is shown that no enhancement of heat transfer occurs in these layers as compared with that in case of a plain tube.
