Summary:The essential oils of leaf, fruit and flower of Xylopia aromatica were obtained by hydrodistillation (leaf and fruit) and SPME (flower) and analyzed by GC-MS. The major components identified in the leaf oil were bicyclogermacrene (36.5%) and spathulenol (20.5%). The flower and fruit oils were dominated by limonene (44.6% and 36.4%;), α-pinene (24.8% and 19.2%) and β-pinene (16.7% and 13.3%).
