Summary:We studied the chlorophyll a forms and the pattern of protein-pigment complexes by electrophoresis from chloroplastic membranes isolated from a mutant strain of C. reinhardtii without photosystem 1 activity. It is possible, therefore, to correlate the absence of photosystem I activity with the lack of protein-pigment complex I (mol. wt = 70 000) and, also, with the lack of Chl a 690 form.
