Investigation of the KLa(SO4)2·H2O–SrSO4·0.5H2O System

The KLa(SO 4 ) 2 ·H 2 O–SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O system was studied by X-ray powder diffraction analysis, differential thermogravimetric analysis, and electronic microscopy. The limits of existence were determined for solid solutions of two types: the ones based on the structure of the hexagonal form α-SrSO...

Summary:The KLa(SO 4 ) 2 ·H 2 O–SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O system was studied by X-ray powder diffraction analysis, differential thermogravimetric analysis, and electronic microscopy. The limits of existence were determined for solid solutions of two types: the ones based on the structure of the hexagonal form α-SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O in the concentration range 10–70 mol % SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O and the ones based on the structure of the orthorhombic form β-SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O in the concentration range 85–100 mol % SrSO 4 ·0.5H 2 O.
