Summary: | In article number 1900605, Dan Shao, Kam W. Leong, and co‐workers summarize recent advances of rationally engineered cell membrane–based nanotherapeutics for inflammation therapy. These therapies utilize a functional nanoparticle core decorated with engineered cell‐membrane vesicles. Nanoparticle cores that are organic (polymer), inorganic (silica and metal nanoparticle), or hybrid (such as metal–organic frameworks) in nature are all applicable. With judicious choice of cell membranes, these nanotherapeutics can achieve targeted delivery to the inflammatory environment for enhanced therapeutic efficacy. |
