Summary:AHP is a popular method in evaluating environmental issues with combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses. It was first used in the comprehensive evaluation of autumn-color plants in this paper. 31 genera of autumn-color trees on Wuling Mountain, which were selected from the literature and from field surveys, were comprehensively evaluated by AHP. The 31 trees could be separated into 3 grades: Grade A (8 spp.), Grade B (16 spp.), Grade C (7 spp.). Native autumn plants could be quantitatively evaluated by AHP. This was helpful for ecological and landscaping projects.
