Summary:A study was made on clinical course and relapse in 24 cases of Crohn's disease. For the initial treatment, the elemental-diet was most effective in shortening the duration to remission. Ulcer lesions demonstrated by barium enema study improved mostly and aphthoid ulcers and fissuring ulcers were disappeared by initial treatment with the elemental diet. In 15 cases observed more than l year after remission, duration of relapse had not been affected by each of initial treatment such as prednisolone, salazopyrin or elemental diet. Loose diet restriction in the follow-up course of them had no influence as well on the duration of relapse.
