Summary:This paper presents the car crashworthiness simulation of vehicle to Pole 250 barrier frontal impact by using crash test simulation computer model. The barrier model was developed for vehicle crashworthiness simulation based on real test conditions. The Pole 250 barrier which is a pole with a 250 mm radius and 25 percent overlap was used for finite element full vehicle crash test model by using HyperMesh and LS-DYNA software. The crash analysis using finite element models showed that the serious damage to the vehicle structure occurred when the vehicle model impact to Pole 250. The results demonstrate that the improvement of local structure such as A-pillar, rocker panel and hinge pillar can promote the crashworthiness of the vehicle, but the further improvement needs a major change of the vehicle structure.
