Summary:The Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a developing country with an estimated population of 96.2 million as of 2019. The prevalence rate of epilepsy is between 4.4 and 14 per 1000 population. The care of epileptic patients in Vietnam is suboptimal for many reasons: insufficient resources, poor infrastructure, lack of education (to both patients and physicians), and inadequate offer of medical and surgical treatment options for epilepsy.
