Summary:To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Sixteenth Century Journal, the editors published a special edition entitled "Taking the Temperature of Early Modern Studies," which included fifty essays that analyzed a variety of historical forces and trends. Among the authors, focus on the present received prime attention. Inspired partly by this insight, Whitney Leeson opted to organize a pedagogy panel devoted to the topic of "gaming." The "Gaming to Learn" panel, sponsored by the SCJ for the 50th-anniversary meeting of the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference annual meeting held in St. Louis MO from October 16-20, 2019, seemed a fitting way to continue the combined celebrations of golden anniversaries. This publication of the papers from the gaming panel represents the final act of that special weekend.
