Summary:The reaction γA → A′ η was studied on Be, C, Al, Cu, Ag and Pb target s at E γ = 2 GeV and ∥ t∥ = 0.5 (GeV/ c) 2. Experimental data are analysed in the Glauber-Margolis theory framework to get the total σ ηN cross section. This result is dependent on the value of the ratio of differential cross-sections of η-meson photoproduction from neutron and proton, R, and agrees with the quark model value of σ ηN = 20 mb for R ranging from 0.3 to 0.6.
