Summary:In recent years, a lot of focus has been laid on interdisciplinary subjects and projects in Engineering education. Robotics is the one field of engineering, which can be introduced at the first year to promote the interdisciplinary learning environment among the undergraduate engineering students. In this paper, we describe the curriculum of Build Your Own Robot (BYOR) Course introduced for the first engineering students as a skill development program and presented the students’ learning experiences on the course based on the survey conducted for first year 780 students. The survey shows the positive feedback received for the effectiveness of the implemented course and has helped in improving the curriculum for further development.
