Summary:Performances of an SOEC methane production system and a conventional methane production system consisting of a water electrolyzer and a methanator are investigated. At first operating condition at which each system can be operate without carbon deposition is estimated by equilibrium calculation. Next, under obtained operating condition, dependences of reactant composition and system efficiency of the each system on operating conditions, are calculated and compared with each other. From the result of the analysis, advantage of SOEC methane production system is clarified.
