Summary:Children with vitamin D insufficiency are characterized by antiviral and antibacterial immunity. And, contrariwise, supplements of vitamin D have immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory action, and protect the child body from infection. The data of the evidence-based medicine testify the importance of the use of vitamin D to prevent and to treat tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis, prevention of respiratory tracts infections, including those caused by RSV (respiratory and syncitial virus) and Group A virus.
