Summary: | A method for the analysis of single dilutions of acid oxalate extracts of soils for aluminium, iron and manganese by flame emission spectrometry and silicon by atomic absorption spectrometry is presented and compared with established methods. The effects of inter-element interferences are investigated, and an interference by oxalate and caesium on iron which is overcome when aluminium is present is discussed. Good agreement between the proposed and established methods is shown, and advantages in sensitivity, linearity of calibration, convenience and economy for the proposed method are also discussed. |
