Virus-mediated inhibition of the ppp(A2′p) n A system and its prevention by interferon

Encephalomyocarditis virus infection of mouse Ehrlich ascites tumour or L-cells or human HeLa cells inhibits the activation of the ppp(A2′p) n A-dependent nuclease and prevents the binding of a radioactive analogue of ppp(A2′p) n A to the ppp(A2′p) n A binding protein. This loss or inactivation of t...

Summary:Encephalomyocarditis virus infection of mouse Ehrlich ascites tumour or L-cells or human HeLa cells inhibits the activation of the ppp(A2′p) n A-dependent nuclease and prevents the binding of a radioactive analogue of ppp(A2′p) n A to the ppp(A2′p) n A binding protein. This loss or inactivation of the ppp(A2′p) n A-dependent nuclease in response to virus infection is prevented by interferon pretreatment of the cells.
