Summary: | ABSTRACT
Participatory video (PV) is a collective videomaking practice used to identify and address shared issues among its participants. In this article, I discuss the promises and challenges of this process by examining a long‐term PV project carried out among young rural women in Kerman, Iran. The project, which took place over six years, offers a unique window into the multiple ways participants coupled PV with other social interventions to challenge and reassert gender norms and narratives in their community, inspire personal transformation, build communal networks, and engage in incremental social change. |
